Bandile Nsele
31-year old shooting guard Bandile Nsele (187-SG-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for KZ Marlins and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 17 points adding four rebounds and three assists for KZ Marlins in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team NC Zebras (#6, 0-3) with 47-point margin 104-57. KZ Marlins was forced-out from the top positions in South African league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. KZ Marlins will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Nsele has many years of experience at KZ Marlins, through which he has constantly improved. Bandile Nsele averages just after three games 14.7ppg and 5.3rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Markus Geldenhuys (198-F) of Egoli Magic. He is a forward in his first season at Egoli Magic. In the last game Geldenhuys recorded impressive double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Egoli Magic lost that game 47-76 to Group B's leader Cape Town T. (#1, 2-0). This loss caused Egoli Magic to drop to 6th position in Group B. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Egoli Magic managed to get this year. Geldenhuys is one of the most experienced players at Egoli Magic and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Josias Bantaleka (196-F-2002) of league's leader Tshwane S.. Bantaleka scored 16 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Tshwane S., leading his team to a 96-43 easy win against NW Eagles (#5, 0-2). Tshwane S. started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game in Group A. Bantaleka turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Bantaleka has a very solid season. In 3 games in South Africa he scored 12.7ppg.
